Details are beginning to emerge of Norwich Writers’ Circle’s 2013/14 programme.
NWC’s latest programme with begin in September with a visit from acclaimed author, biographer, journalist and reviewer D J Taylor. David, who is a former Writers’ Circle Vice-Chairman, will be discussing his successful career to date, in what is bound to be a popular meeting.
D J Taylor was born in Norwich in 1960, and joined Norwich Writers’ Circle in 1976 when he was a a pupil at Norwich School. He is the author of 11 novels, including English Settlement (1996), which won the Ginzane Cavour Prize, and Derby Day (2011), longlisted for the Booker Prize.
His non-fiction includes Orwell: The Life, which won the 2003 Whitbread Biography Prize and Bright Young People: The Rise And Fall Of A Generation.
D J was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society Of Literature in 1997. His latest book, The Windsor Faction, published in September, is a counter-factual historical novel set in the Winter of 1939/40 in which Edward VIII is still on the throne and a secret King’s Party attempting to the derail the war effort.
