On 2nd July Norwich Writers’ Circle held its Prize-Giving Evening & AGM.
The well-attended meeting celebrates Circle members’ successes in our various in-house competitions held throughout the year.
Following a recent programme change, unfortunately not all the prizes were able to be awarded this evening. It is hoped that the announcement of our final competition winners will be able take place during our 2013/14 programme.
During the evening our President Elizabeth Bencze presented Maureen Nisbet with The Colin Sutton Cup For Humour, which was adjudicated by Maggie Secker earlier this year.
This meeting also included our AGM where members decided to increase our membership fee for the year ahead. It was also decided that our popular Open Poetry Competition would not take place in 2013/14. The OPC has been rested for a year in order that everyone would be able to focus on encouraging new members to join our interesting and worthwhile writing group.
Following her recent decision to step down from the committee, after many years of being NWC’s Membership Secretary and more, Doreen Rosser was rewarded with some surprise flowers by our Chairman Adrian Dearnley.

NWC next meet in September, following our Summer break.
Details of our forthcoming programme will be announced in the weeks to come.
We look forward to seeing you later on in the year.
